Inspiration through nature

The primary objective of Creative Nature is to deliver innovative and effective Emotional Literacy programmes for children and young people. Our inspiring methodology is both engaging and motivating for young people and provides real opportunities for personal development and raising self esteem through play, creativity, problem solving, knowledge & skills and risk management. Regularly coming together in a safe and prepared woodland site young people have the opportunity to learn about themselves and each other outside of their usual settings. Every Creative Nature programme provides a fertile stimulus to practice, explore or develop: Self awareness
Emotion regulation
Transition & conflict management

Big Fish Ventures have a long and successful reputation for devising effective creative development programmes for children, families and adults who experience the effects of poverty, disadvantage and / or social exclusion.

Creative Nature provides a person centred intervention particularly effective with vulnerable or excluded groups and can complement and enhance existing group work and therapeutic programmes.

Creative Nature promotes healthy active lifestyles and offers families meaningful time together, away from the stresses and problems of modern life. Participating in activities and sharing new experiences together in a natural environment can help to deepen parent- child relationships, improve communication and understanding, and be remembered for years to come.

Families experiencing upheaval, separation or bereavement may particularly benefit from the Creative Nature methodology which helps families to rediscover the physical, social and mental benefits from simply playing out in the woods together.

Creative Nature complements the SEAL (Social & Emotional Aspects of Learning) and PSHE & Citizenship curriculums and works across other school curriculums including numeracy, literacy, science and geography. Creative Nature is highly relevent to the new Early Years Foundation Stage with it’s emphasis on outdoor learning and the Learning Outside the Classroom Manifesto.

Creative Nature nurtures an understanding and commitment to sustainable lifestyles by encouraging a personal connection with the natural world. If our connection to nature is at an all time low, where will our future stewards of the earth come from?
